The route
From Reigate, the driver usually heads south through Woodhatch on the A217 and through Horley to the airport. From Redhill or Merstham, the M23 is often quicker. Either way, it is a short journey.
Train or taxi?
Reigate and Redhill both have direct trains to Gatwick. For one person with a small bag, the train is the cheapest option. For two or more people, an early flight or lots of luggage, a taxi from your door often costs about the same as the tickets combined, and you do not have to get to the station first.

Very early flights
Gatwick's first departures leave around 6am, and the first trains from Reigate may not get you there in time for check-in. A pre-booked taxi from your door is often the only practical way to make the earliest flights without a hotel the night before.
