Epsom to Gatwick taxi

Fixed fare from £59 · 20 miles · about 35 minutes

Gatwick is Epsom's nearest major airport and the one we drive to more than any other. It is a short, mostly motorway journey, and with a pre-booked Epsom to Gatwick taxi you go from your front door to the terminal drop-off without changing trains or paying for a week in the airport car park.

A saloon from central Epsom costs from £59, fixed at the time of booking. The journey is around 20 miles and normally takes 35 minutes. You pay for the car, so the price is the same for one passenger or four.

The route from Epsom to Gatwick

The driver leaves Epsom on the A240 Reigate Road, joins the A217 at Burgh Heath and drops down Reigate Hill to junction 8 of the M25. From there it is two junctions east to junction 7 and onto the M23, which runs straight down to junction 9 and the airport spur. Both terminals are signposted from the spur roundabout.

It is one of the most predictable airport runs in our area. The main hold-ups are the A217 through Burgh Heath at school times and the M25 between junctions 8 and 7 in the morning peak, so for early flights we leave a little extra time.

Rail or car?

There is no direct train from Epsom to Gatwick; the rail journey involves at least one change, and lifting cases on and off trains. For one person with hand luggage, the train can be the cheaper option. For a couple or a family with suitcases, the fixed fare is usually close to, or less than, the combined rail tickets, and it is door to door.

North or South Terminal?

Gatwick has two terminals, linked by a free shuttle train. Check your booking to see which one your airline uses and choose it on the booking form.

North Terminal

The larger of the two, with its own drop-off area.

South Terminal

Next to Gatwick railway station.

Coming back to Epsom

For the return, add your flight number. Your driver tracks the flight, meets you in arrivals with a name board and takes you home. Book both directions together and the way back is 5% cheaper. Read more on the Gatwick to Epsom page.

Gatwick parking compared with a taxi

Parking at Gatwick for a week or two can cost as much as a return transfer, more in school holidays, and you still have to drive yourself there and back. With a taxi there is no shuttle bus from a distant car park, no searching for the car when you get back, and nobody has to drive after a late landing.

Families and groups

Travelling with children or a group? Our MPVs take six with luggage, and our larger vehicles take up to 8 passengers. Child and baby seats can be fitted for the journey: add them when you book. See the 8-seater minibus page for group travel.
